#InternationalWomensDay
As a mother raising a daughter you want her to be confident and kind and rising sons you want them to know how to respect women. Today I love to celebrate women. Their achievements, their resilience, the support they can be to each other and their potential.
Agree with it or not, like it or not, on the whole women are still treated unequal to men. Be it through what behaviour they are judged by, what people perceive they are worth or even something more basic like the salary they are paid it’s unfortunately not an equal world.
So what do I want to teach my kids. I want them to dream big and know that anything is possible. I want them to be kind and respect everyone. I want then to know how loved they are and to be happy.
I worry already that their world growing up will be so much harder than mine. Social Media has created a life lived under the microscope that we were not subject to and exposure to things we would never come into contact with.
So I want to empower them all, especially my daughter. I want to make her strong and more confident, especially in controlling her life and claiming her rights. If I can give her that power I will have done the best job I can.
